TEHRAN- The semifinalist of Asian Football Championships, Esteqlal of Tehran, narrowly defeated Abu Moslem of Khorasan here Thursday but another popular team of the capital, Pirouzi, was held by SAIPA to a 1-1 draw. Playing the last match of 11th week of Iran's Premier Clubs Championships on the pitch of 100,000-seater Azadi Stadium, the blues managed to win clash against Abu Moslem 2-1. The header of defender Sohrab Bakhtiari-Zadeh put Esteqlal ahead in the 44th minute that was responded by Reza Enayati whose left low shot in the penalty area found the net, leveling the match in the 57th minute, reported IRNA. The winner of host team came three minutes later by Raf'at Qoliev, who fired a powerful shot that kissed the top right corner of visitors.
In Friday's match played in the 12th week on the pitch of Azadi Stadium, Mohammad Mo'meni scored in the 68th minute to put SAIPA ahead but Ali Ansarian made it 1-1 after converting the penalty four minutes later.
