Iran invited to Hong Kong quadrangular

AFC - Together with Denmark and Uruguay, Iran have been invited to play in the annual Carlsberg Cup to be held in Hong Kong next year.

Slovenia, Honduras and China were amongst the trio invited to the quadrangular tournament held earlier this year, with Honduras eventually defeating hosts Hong Kong in the Final.

After finishing second in the West Asian Games in April, Iran have since won the Asian Games gold medal in Busan.

Iran had held Denmark at Copenhagen to a 0-0 friendly draw in 1999.
