| PLDC - Iran’s Professional League Organization will apparently pay more
attention to the Elimination Cup matches during the holy month of Ramadan (from 6/11/2002 to 5/12/2002). According to an official of the PLO, the
board of directors of the organization has decided to only allow the fifth week of the Iranian Professional League to take place during Ramadan
because of the importance and the merits of the tournament. The main attention for the rest of Ramadan will be given to the Elimination Cup tournament. It appears that one of the conditions for holding matches is acting according to the rules of FIFA. The rules state that in order for games to be played at night a lighting equivalent of 600 lamps is required to be lighted in any stadium and no stadium in Tehran expect Azadi (under repair and renovation) possesses this standard. |
