Amirabadi objects to referee

PLDC - Mehdi Amirabadi (Siapa of Tehran striker) is at present objecting to the decisions of the referee in the Persepolis – Saipa match which took place on Friday, 01/11/2002, in the 3rd week of the Iranian Professional League which ended with the result of 1-1.

Amirabadi said, “The referee was not fair. A foul, deserving a penalty, was committed on myself. This was in the penalty area of Persepolis and one of the opponents held my hand. Instead giving us the point, the referee announced my foul. That is why I went over to him and objected and got my yellow card.”

“I don’t know why the referee acted in this way. The team coaches were happy with the results and I did not let anybody get through the left wing even once. The coaches had asked me to defend. This draw was like a win for me as we got one point at home to the champions of the last season.”
