Iran extends Ivankovic's contract

Teheran, Oct 18 - The Iranian Football Federation confirmed Friday that Croatian Branko Ivankovic's contract as coach to the national team will be extended.
Federation head Mohammad Dadkan said that after the U-23 Iran side won the gold medal in the Asian Games in Busan, South Korea earlier this month there was no reason not to extend Ivankovic's contract past February 2003.
Dadkan said he expects the Croatian to lead the same side that performed so well in Korea through to the Asian championship in 2004 and the qualification matches for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
