Ivancovic, “Let’s think about Japan”

PLDC - After the 1-0 victory Iran gained against South Korea in the semifinal leg of the 14th Asian Games in Busan, Branco Ivancovic (the Croatian head coach of the Iranian National Team) said, “After winning from Korea and passing this tough barrier, we must now only think about Japan and the championship. I had said before that to overcome Korea, I had special plans. We had to tire out Korea to win the game.”

“The Koreans did not reach their aims and they lost their strength at the end of the match. That’s why they did not perform well in the penalty kicks. Our boys played calmly and believed in themselves. They shot their penalties professionally. I congratulate Iran on this great victory.”

“We also miss Daei in Busan. The boys are filling in for him and we are not up against any problems. Vahedi Nikbakht has so far received two yellow cards and can not play in the final. The Iranian press and media 
have had a great share in bringing Iran these victories. I hope all our efforts are fruitful and will lead to the gold medal of the tournament.”
