Daei very upset with father’s death

PLDC - Abolfazl Daei, the esteemed father of Ali Daei, Iranian National Team captain and Al Shabab striker, passed away yesterday, 18/10/2002, due to a heart attack. A few hours after the event Mohammad Dadkan, Head of the Iranian football Federation, broke the news to him gently during the 14th Asian games in Busan.

The news came as a shock to Daei and his teammates and the National team staff. Having heard the news he broke into tears and became unwell. 
Daei’s condition affected a number of the other Iranian National Team players and they joined in the mourning.

At present Ali Daei is trying very hard to find a ticket back to Tehran and go thorough the customary mourning ceremonies as soon as possible.
