Hamburger SV's Mahdavikia to skip Bayern Munich game

Berlin, Aug 23, IRNA -- Iranian football international and Hamburger SV forward Mehdi Mahdavikia will skip Saturday's top match against Bundesliga title favorite Bayern Munich, the HSV online site reported Friday.
Mahdavikia will instead be in the starting line-up of Hamburger SV's third division amateur team which will face league rival Chemnitzer FC.
The game is intended as another warm-up match for Mahdavikia following his long recovery from a complicated disc surgery, performed last February.
The ex-Pirouzi striker whose contract runs until 2004, played his last match on February 16 during Hamburg's 2-1 loss at Borussia Moenchengladbach.
