AFC - Iran's Asian Games squad were held to a 2-2 draw by the national team of Azerbaijan in a warm-up match in Tabriz on Thursday. Despite taking an early lead through Ali Karimi, the Iranians looked headed for defeat when they fell 2-1 behind and had a player sent off on the hour. However, Moharram Navidkia saved the hosts with an equaliser five minutes from time. The Iranian Under-23 side has enjoyed a good build-up to the Asian Games, winning five games during a training camp in Europe that concluded last week. |
