Nekounam chosen in La Liga´s revelation squad

PFDC – PAMPLONA, UEFA.com published their revelation squad from La Liga´s 2006-07 season on Friday. Among the eleven players, two men from Pamplona, forward Roberto Soldado and midfielder Javad Nekounam.

Despite the language barrier and the cultural adaptation, the Iranian international perceived as an exotic transfer at the begining of the season proved to be Osasuna´s best player, both in league matches and in the UEFA Cup.

The elegancy of the 26-year-old combined with his calm and his great ball distribution qualities were underlined by the UEFA.com journalists.

“In his first season in Spain, his remarkable adaptation lead him to excellent displays, the Iranian earns his place as the organisator and distributor of the squad along Javier Casquero from Getafe.”

Nekounam played in 38 matches in three competitions (La Liga, Copa del Rey, UEFA CUP), scoring three goals, notably a historic goal against Girondins de Bordeaux in the 120th minute in the UEFA CUP Round of 16.
