Croatia postpones coach decision with Branko Ivankovic!!

Reuters - Croatia's soccer association have postponed making a decision on a new national coach until next week after officials failed to agree on a successor to Otto Baric on Thursday. 
'After secret voting, we have got four candidates who I will speak to in the next few days,' FA president Vlatko Markovic told reporters after a meeting of the FA executive body. 

The candidates are Srecko Katanec, Slovenia's former coach, Zlatko Kranjcar, a former Croatia international with moderate coaching experience, under-21 coach Martin Novoselac and Branko Ivankovic, who is currently in charge of Iran. 

Baric, who led Croatia's Euro 2004 campaign in Portugal and whose contract expires at the end of July, has said he is not willing to stay on in the job and is unhappy about his treatment from the media. 

Croatia failed to progress beyond the group stage in Portugal after finishing third behind France and England and ahead of Switzerland after two draws and a defeat. 

Croatian media criticised Baric for focusing too much on defence, lacking courage to field talented young players and reshuffling line-ups too often. 

Croatia play Israel in a friendly on August 18 before starting their 2006 World Cup qualifying campaign at home to Hungary on September 4. They have also been drawn with Sweden, Bulgaria, Iceland and Malta.
