Asian Futsal Lord Iran Opens Title Defense on Walkover

Mehr News – The five-times Asian futsal champion, Iran, threw the gauntlet with a 15-0 romp over the hapless Hong Kong in its first game in the sixth edition in Macau, China, Saturday. 
Top goalscorer Vahid Shamsaei scored seven goals while national skipper Mohammadreza Heidarian and Kazem Mohammadi netted two apiece and Farhad Fakhim, Amir Hanifi, Babak Ma’soumi, and Mohammad Hashemzadeh added four to complete the Hong Kong rout.

In other matches, Japan crushed the Lebanese side 4-0 and South Korea edged past Taiwan 4-2.

Iran meets Indonesia Sunday.
