PLDC - Spain’s football federation has withdrawn from a planned friendly against Iran’s national team, citing political pressure following recent events and EU actions.
The two sides had previously reached initial agreements on the date, time, and venue, with the match expected to be held in June 2026 in Deportivo La Coruña. Iran’s federation reacted by stating it had counted on the agreement and still hopes the game will take place.
