PLDC - Sepahan were held to a 2–2 draw by Al Ahli (Qatar) in the first leg of the AFC Champions League Two 2025/26 Round of 16 in Doha.
Sepahan took the lead through Ricardo Alves and later went ahead again with a header from Arash Rezavand before halftime. Al Ahli responded with a goal from Michel Vlap to keep the match close.
The turning point came in the 90th minute when Sepahan’s Omid Norafkan was sent off, leaving the Iranian side with 10 players. Al Ahli capitalized in stoppage time, as Erik Exposito scored a late equalizer to secure a draw.
A late VAR review for a possible penalty for Al Ahli was dismissed, and the match ended level, leaving qualification to be decided in the second leg next week.
