IRNA - Iran extended its winning streak in football matches of the World University Games in Daigo, South Korea, Sunday. Iran snatched its third win as it defeated Canada 2-1, booking a berth in the quarterfinals as the leader of group B. Farid Abedi grabbed the opener for Iran in 16th minute and his teammate Bahman Tahmasbi made it 2-0 on 69 minutes. Canada scored its consolation goal four minutes from the normal time. Iran meets Republic of Czech Wednesday. |
