| Dubai, March 6, IRNA -- Santos of Brazil defeated the youth team of
Tehran's Esteqlal on penalties Tuesday in the semifinal of an international soccer tournament in the United Arab Emirates, "Al Ahly
Cup". Losing 1-0 until the 83rd minute, Santos leveled the match and won the derby 4-1. The Brazilian side converted three penalties but Esteqlal scored no goal from the spot. In another semifinal, Al Moqawelun of Egypt overcame the Tunisian squad, At-Taraji, 1-0 in the normal time. At-Taraji and Esteqlal are to clash Wednesday for the third title and Santos and Al Moqawelun field their players for the top title. The youth soccer squad of Esteqlal had cruised into the semifinals after winning Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia. Winning its first two matches earlier, the Iranian team beat Al-Hilal 2-0 Monday in Al Ahly Stadium. Omid Amini-Fard put Esteqlal ahead in the 20th minute and his teammate Hamed Shirkhanloo made it 2-0 ten minutes from the break. The representative of the country won the first clash against the host team, "Al Ahly B", 3-2 and defeated the Egyptian side, Al Moqawelun, 2-0 in its second derby. Sponsored by the world's soccer governing body, FIFA, the tournament is attended by "Al Ahly A", "Al Ahly B", youth national team of the UAE, Esteqlal youth team of Tehran, Santos of Brazil, At-Taraji of Tunisia, Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia and Al Moqawelun of Egypt.
