AFC - Iranian star Vahid Hashemian was the saviour of German club VfL Bochum on Saturday after scoring a vital equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Hansa Rostock. Antonio Salvo had given hosts Hansa the lead in the 31st minute before Hashemian fired in the equaliser in the 62nd minute. The effort just after the hour mark means Hashemian has now scored three goals in February after grabbing a brace against Bayer Leverkusen two weeks ago. Bochum are now standing at ninth placed in the German Bundesliga after collecting 30 points from 22 league matches. Meanwhile, both Japanese star Naohiro Takahara and Iranian midfielder Mehdi Mahdavikia were in the starting line-up for Hamburg but the Asian duo finished on the losing side in a 2-0 loss to Kaiserslautern.
