PLDC - Esteghlal football club has started negotiations to sign Khatibi. According to Our reporter, Esteghlal’s managing director, Mr. Fatholahzadeh, has officially met with Mr. Ajurlou to purchase Khatibi from Pas club. In this meeting, Fatholahzadeh asked Pas club officials to release Khatibi’s papers in order for him to be with Esteghlal in the upcoming Asian Club Champion’s league. Earlier this month, Perspolis team has also offered to purchase Khatibi from Pas, which was turned down by Pas officials due to disagreement over Perspolis’s offered price. Also TraktorSazi of Tabriz made an offer last week, which was not accepted by Pas due to the length of the time, which the money was to be paid. After failed attempts by Perspolis and Traktorsazi, Esteghlal club officials moved quickly and made an offer. The agreed amount is 250 Million Toman, which must be partially paid by Esteghlal by the end of next week. According to sources, this contract can break the transfer record of domestic players, since 250 Million Toman is a considerable amount of money for transferring a football player in Iran.
