Iran tops Futsal World Cup fan poll

MNA - The lively Iranian futsal team has been selected as the most impressive team at the 2008 Futsal World Cup by fans in an Internet poll.
Iran qualified for the next stage on Thursday after defeating the Czech Republic 3-2 in Group D. The Persian Gulf team finished second after Spain in the group because of goal difference.

Iran will meet host Brazil on Saturday in a quarterfinal match.

The team came first in the recent FIFA internet poll with 59.56%, followed by Russia with 13.28%, Argentina with 12.96%, Paraguay with 8.38% and Ukraine with 5.38% respectively.

Iran will face host Brazil, Italy and Ukraine in Group E.

Two-time world champion Spain is to play, Argentina, Paraguay and Russia in Group F.
