Tehran's Persepolis stopped at home

PTV – Popular frontrunner of the Iranian Premier League, Persepolis, has been held to a 2-2 draw by Saba Batry at Tehran's Azadi Stadium.

In the 16th week of the Iranian Premier League (IPL), the 10-man Saba Batry turned a 2-0 defeat into a draw with two goals in the minutes 81 and 83.

Abbas Aqaei scored in 61st minute and Farzad Ashoubi in the 66th minute to put Persepolis ahead before over 30,000 mostly Red fans.

Persepolis holds the top place with 36 points in the 18-team Iranian Premier League.

Another popular team of the Iranian capital Esteqlal defeated Zob Ahan 1-0 at Isfahan's Foulad Shahr Stadium.

The Blues Mohammad Navazi scored in the 82nd to secure three points of the match for the Tehran team.

That was the second match of Esteqlal under its new coach Firouz Karimi. The team was beaten by Hamadan's Pas 1-0 in Tehran last week.
