Tasnim – Iran national football team head coach Amir Ghalenoei says that Team Melli needs four friendly matches ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Iran has been drawn in Group G along with Belgium, Egypt and New Zealand.
Team Melli will start the competition with a match against New Zealand on June 15.
Iran will also face Belgium on June 21 and Egypt on June 26.
"In general, all the teams are very close to each other. Compared to the other groups, our condition is better,” Ghalenoei said.
“We will play four friendly matches (ahead of the World Cup) to be ready for the challenge,” he added.
