OSASUNA BLOW THREE-GOAL LEAD [VIDEO] PDF Print E-mail

Sportinglife - A spectacular comeback against Osasuna saw Real Valladolid recover from three goals down to snatch a point at the Estadio Reyno de Navarra.
Goals by Dady and Javad Nekounam ensured the hosts were firmly in control at the break and it seemed all over when Dady grabbed another in the 57th minute.

However, Henok Goitom clawed one back on the hour mark and things suddenly started looking shaky for Osasuna five minutes later when the unfortunate Miguel Flano headed into his own net.

The comeback was complete four minutes from time thanks to substitute Bartholomew Ogbeche.

Osasuna are now rock bottom following Recreativo Huelva's victory at Real Mallorca and their confidence will have taken a major knock as they threw away what would have been only their second victory of the season.

The hosts knew that this was a good chance to pick up some much-needed points ahead of a nightmare series of fixtures against Barcelona, Real Madrid, Villarreal and Sevilla and they started brightly.

Santi Ezquerro had a good chance with barely 10 minutes on the clock but his effort flew narrowly wide from the edge of the area.

However, they only had to wait seven minutes for the opening goal as Nacho Monreal seemingly had all the time in the world to pick out Dady in the area who headed home from 12 yards.

Osasuna were completely dominating the match while Valladolid appeared lethargic and uncreative.

The visiting fans had to wait over half an hour for something to cheer about as a splendid free-kick by Pedro Leon was matched by an equally stunning save from Osasuna goalkeeper Roberto Fernandez.

However, Ezquerro was proving to be a thorn in their side and almost extended his side's lead as first he saw his effort saved by Valladolid goalkeeper Justo Villar before he fired narrowly wide minutes later.

Osasuna did double their lead two minutes before half-time as Nekounam volleyed Juanfran Torres' cross into the back of the net.

Things got even worse for the visitors after the break as Osasuna extended their lead in the 57th minute with Dady firing home a perfect pass from Jaroslav Plasil.

It was only then that Valladolid seemed to come alive and they grabbed one back almost immediately when Goitom slotted Victor Fernandez's cross into the bottom left corner.

The visiting fans, who minutes earlier had had their heads in their hands, started to believe an astonishing comeback could be on the cards when Miguel Flano headed into his own net in the 65th minute.

The game had suddenly come alive again although Osasuna almost restored their two-goal advantage five minutes later but a spectacular overhead kick from Hector Font sailed over the bar.

Valladolid came agonisingly close to the equaliser 10 minutes from time but Goitom headed into the arms of Roberto.

However, to the home fans' despair Ogbeche, who had only come off the bench 10 minutes earlier, headed home Pedro Leon's free-kick in the 86th minute to ensure his side returned to Valladolid with a point.
